Hakone Gardens. The Hakone Gardens are oasis of zen and beauty ensconced in an ambience of calm. We made a return trip to Hakone Gardens.

Commissioned by art patrons Oliver and Isabel Stine, the gardens were originally designed as part of a summer retreat. A second gate to the left has no steps and is wheelchair. Hakone comprises hillside gardens, historic buildings, waterfalls and koi ponds, bridges, strolling gardens, lanterns, stonework, and many other elements of Japan's ancient civilization.
